BATAVIA — Walking in the Buffalo Central Labor Council’s Labor Day Parade and Picnic Monday, Diana Kastenbaum was keeping in stride with recent campaign endorsements.
Kastenbaum, a Batavia business owner and Democratic candidate for the 27th Congressional District, said labor is a welcome part of her coalition.
“We have much to be thankful for when it comes to Labor in this country,” Kastenbaum said. “Without organized labor we would not have child labor laws, minimum wage and safe working conditions.”
“However, we must always be diligent because there are those who would seek to strip away the monumental strides that have been made by literally the blood, sweat and tears of the labor movement.”
Last week, Kastenbaum was endorsed by United Auto Workers W Region 9, whose members are part of the automotive, aerospace and steel industries, along with members at Cornell University in Ithaca.
Kastenbaum had previously been endorsed by United Food and Commercial Workers Local One, Western New York Communications Workers of America, Public Employees Federation, New York State United Teachers, as well as the Western New York and New York State AFL-CIO.
